THERMOPILE OTP-537F4 Introduction TheOTP-537F4isathermopilesensorinclassicTO-5housing.Thesensoriscomposedof116elementsofthermocoupleinseriesonafloatingmicro-membranehavinganactivediameterof545 m and with blacken surface to absorb the incident thermal infrared radiation, which induces avoltageresponseatoutputterminals. Thesensorchipisfabricatedbyauniquefront-surfacebulkmicromachining technology, which result in smaller size and faster to response ambienttemperaturechange. TheIRwindowisabandpassfilterhavingcut-onwavelengthat8 m,andcut-downat14 m. ThesensorresponsesproportionallytotheincidentIRradiationandhasaconstantsignalresponseupto its cut-off frequency, which is limited by the sensor thermal time constant of tens millisecondrange. TheOTP-537F4thermopilesensorprovidesnearlyJohnson-noise-limitedperformance,whichcanbe calculated by its ohmic series resistance.A thermistor element, with a lead connected toground,isalsoprovidedinsidetheTOpackageforambienttemperaturereference.
